I'm Chris, and I like a lot of music, so here I will post what I am listening to at the moment.

Today’s song is a mashup of Big D and the Kids Table and Moe Pope. Ska and rap make for an interesting mix. Big D are pulling into Iowa with Reel Big Fish in July, so I’ll probably have to make the roadtrip out there to catch them live.
Chumbawumba will always be remembered for that one song. That song that everyone knows. They are that one hit wonder with that fucking song that gets played at every sports event.
But very few people know that they are an anarchist punk band that plays other songs. Although, the band uses the term “punk” very loosely; they are really more of a techno group than anything. However, they still have a few songs that are pretty good. This is one of those songs, called “Drip Drip Drip”.
I just heard that Joe Sell, the guitarist for Lucky Boys Confusion, passed away today from pancreatic problems. It’s kind of a bummer because LBC was one of the opening bands at the very first concert I ever went to. It was down in Sokol Underground in Omaha and Bowling For Soup was the show’s headliner. I only had $5 in my pocket that night and after seeing LBC play, I immediately went to their merch booth a bought a copy of their “Getting Out Alive” EP. I still love that EP, even though it’s only 5 songs long. It’s one of those albums that takes me right back to my freshman year of high school every time I listen to it.
Anyways, thanks for the great songs, Joe. This track is “The Struggle (Getting Out Alive)”.
The Rhythm Heaven games are a very underrated series, but they’re all really fun. I’ve been playing the latest version, Rhythm Heaven Fever on the Wii and I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s just as weird and quirky as the others and the music is great too. This track comes from the “Air Rally” game, where you play badminton with a cat while riding on airplanes. The beat is super infectious, me gusto mucho.
I’m not a big Coldplay fan. You could even say I dislike them. Last night at their show in Hollywood, they busted out a cover of the Beastie Boy’s “Fight For Your Right” in tribute to Adam Yauch. They totally took the song in a complete different direction (as all good covers should). It’s a very haunting tribute and I enjoyed it a lot.
Another one of my favorite Beastie Boys songs, “Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun”.
RIP Adam Yauch (1964-2012)
